Throughout our long standing relationship with the Local Government sector we have gained significant knowledge and experience of the challenges faced and have been the catalyst for improvements in many areas. Some examples of our assignments are as follows:

  • Transformational Government and e-Government strategy
    TMG has aligned with the Transformational Government Strategy during the development of Local Authority business requirements definition, in preparation for business-focused ICT strategy planning. We have developed Implementing Electronic Government, e-Government and associated strategies in partnership with a number of Local Authorities, defining the vision that demonstrated commitment to the community in delivering responsive services, and to stakeholders in the achievement of efficiency.
  • Process Improvement
    By reviewing potential weaknesses in Local Authority organisational processes TMG established opportunities for efficiency gains, reduced bureaucracy and improved quality of customer facing interactions. We also provided knowledge transfer to clients, mentoring in process mapping and business process re-engineering for future self help.
  • Standard Operating Procedures
    TMG has significant experience in the development of Standard Operating Procedures linked with process re-engineering. Consultancy has been provided for the specification and selection of Local Authority Information Management Systems to underpin future operations and business strategy.

    Our methodology uses both a ‘top down’ and ‘bottom up’ approach to ensure that user’s functional requirements are met whilst aligning all application systems with the strategic needs of the organisation.

    Our knowledge and experience of ‘good practice’ in ITT preparation and in tender and systems evaluation significantly improves the chances of selecting the most appropriate commercial software.

    TMG also has extensive experience in project managing the implementation of systems at an organisational and departmental level. We act on behalf of clients in a quality assurance role, managing software suppliers to ensure that they deliver in a timely and quality manner

  • Business Continuity Planning
    TMG takes a simple approach to business continuity planning, based on threat and impact analysis followed by recovery documentation. Our experienced consultants have not only built and tested business continuity plans but have successfully invoked them in real life situations.
